Innovative Learning Grants

Funding Innovative Learning
The San Juan Education Foundation will identify and support programs in science, technology and the arts through a process that funds Innovative Learning Grants and Project Based Learning Grants.

Grants
Grants for the San Juan Education Foundation's 2010-11 grant cycle, both Innovative and Project Based Learning grants, will be accepted beginning August 16 and ending September 17.

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 17.

In order to be eligible to apply for a Project Based Learning grant, all applicants must attend a mandatory 2 hour grant writing meeting on any one of the following dates:

1. June 28 – 2:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.

2. July 14 – 7:00 p.m.- 9 p.m.

3. August 12 – 1:00 p.m.- 3 p.m.

All trainings will be at the district office. If you have taken the PBL training in the past, you are not required to repeat the training, although it may help you in writing your application.

Teacher Application for Grants

As a requirement of the project based learning grant application process grantees must attend a grant writing workshop prior to submission of their application. These workshops will be provided by the foundation. Dates for 2010 trainings will be posted soon. All trainings are scheduled at the district office, in the Ed Services Conference room. Applicants who submit an application without attending one of these training dates will not have their application read by the foundation.

Nervous about writing a grant? SJUSD provides assistance in writing as well as hands on training to make the process easy. Contact: Nina Mancina, nmancina@sanjuan.edu or call (916) 971-7221.
